🔒 Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2025. We respect your privacy — here is exactly what we do and don’t do with your data.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

AQI of My Location does not collect, store, or sell personal information. Specifically:

• We do not store your GPS location or IP address in any database.
• We do not set third-party advertising cookies.
• We do not use cross-site tracking pixels.
• We do not require account creation or email registration to use any tool.

2. Geolocation Data

When you use our location-based tools, your browser requests your GPS coordinates using the standard Web Geolocation API. This requires your explicit permission — your browser will ask before any data is shared.

Your coordinates are sent directly from your browser to third-party APIs (Open-Meteo and Nominatim/OpenStreetMap) to retrieve air quality data. These requests are made client-side (in your browser) and do not pass through our servers. We never see or store your location.

Open-Meteo’s privacy policy: open-meteo.com. OpenStreetMap’s privacy policy: osmfoundation.org.

3. Cookies

We use only essential functional cookies required for WordPress to operate correctly (e.g., session management). We do not use advertising, analytics, or targeting cookies. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated and a consent mechanism will be presented.

4. Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo: Air quality and weather data provider. Free, open-source, GDPR-compliant. No API key required.

Nominatim / OpenStreetMap: Geocoding service. Open data, no personal data stored by us in relation to these calls.

WordPress / Hostinger: Our website platform and hosting provider. Subject to their respective privacy policies.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023), you have the right to access, correct, and delete any personal data we hold. Since we do not store personal data, there is typically nothing to retrieve. If you have concerns, contact us at digvijaykanwar@gmail.com.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
